For years, villagers whispered about the Chiba Ghost, a mysterious spirit that appeared on dark, moonless nights. According to legend, anyone who saw the ghost would be followed
until sunrise—or until the spirit claimed them.
One evening, a young man named Rohan took a shortcut through an abandoned forest despite the warnings. As he walked beneath the silent trees, he suddenly heard footsteps behind him.
He
turned around.
Nothing.
The footsteps started again.
This time, they were closer.
Rohan ran, but the sound followed him. Suddenly, a pale figure appeared between the trees. It wore a torn white robe, had
long black hair, and possessed completely dark eyes. Its head slowly tilted as it stared at him.
Rohan sprinted toward the village, but every path strangely
led him back to the same ancient tree.
Then the ghost whispered his name.
Terrified, Rohan reached the village temple just as the first sunlight
appeared. The ghost vanished instantly.
The villagers believed he was safe.
But that night, muddy footprints appeared outside Rohan's bedroom window. At exactly midnight, three slow knocks came from the glass.
Rohan looked outside and froze.
The Chiba Ghost was standing in the darkness, smiling.
Since then, villagers say the ghost never truly disappears. It simply waits for its next victim to enter the forest.
