Deep inside a dark forest, villagers often heard a little girl crying after midnight. They called her the Forgotten Girl because nobody knew who she was.
One rainy night, Arjun was walking through the forest when he heard a soft voice.
“Please help me…”
He followed the sound and found a small girl sitting beneath an ancient tree. She wore a dirty white dress and stared at him with strangely lifeless eyes.
“Where are your parents?” Arjun asked.
She pointed deeper into the forest.
“They are waiting for you.”
Arjun suddenly noticed dozens of tiny footprints around her, but none leading away from the tree.
The girl smiled.
Then every bird in the forest became silent.
She whispered, “You came back.”
Arjun stepped backward. “What do you mean?”
The girl pointed toward an old stone buried beneath the roots.
Carved into it was Arjun’s name.
His phone suddenly showed an old photograph of himself standing beside the same girl.
But Arjun had never seen her before.
The girl slowly disappeared.
The next morning, villagers found Arjun’s phone beneath the tree.
There was no sign of him.
Since then, people say a little girl still walks through the forest at midnight.
And whenever someone hears her crying, another name mysteriously appears on the stone.
