The village of Bhairavpur had been abandoned for years. Yet every night, strange sounds came from the empty houses. Villagers called them “light voices,” because whenever a bulb flickered,
someone heard whispers.
One night, Arjun, a traveler, entered the village carrying a flashlight. At midnight, every dead streetlight suddenly turned on.
Then he heard a woman whisper, “Turn them off…”
Arjun looked around.
Nobody was there.
The lights began switching on one by one, leading him toward an old house. Inside, hundreds of dusty bulbs hung from the ceiling. Suddenly,
they all started glowing red.
A child’s voice whispered, “We are still here.”
Arjun’s flashlight went out.
From the darkness came footsteps, followed by dozens of voices calling his name.
He ran toward the
door, but it had disappeared.
Then one bulb above him flickered and revealed a horrifying sight—pale villagers standing silently around him, their eyes
glowing like burning lamps.
An old woman stepped forward.
“You turned on the lights,” she whispered. “Now they can see you.”
The next morning, villagers found Arjun’s flashlight outside the abandoned village.
That night, every light in Bhairavpur switched on again.
And from inside the houses, Arjun’s voice whispered,
“Please… turn them off.”
