It was nearly midnight when Arjun boarded the last train to his hometown. The platform was strangely empty, and only a few passengers sat inside the dimly lit coaches.
Arjun found an empty seat beside a window. As the train began moving, he noticed a dark figure standing at the far end of the coach.
He looked away for a moment.
When he looked back, the figure was closer.
Arjun checked the other passengers, but nobody seemed to notice.
Suddenly, the lights flickered.
The figure disappeared.
A cold breeze touched Arjun’s face, and he heard a whisper near his ear.
“Don’t get off at the next station.”
Terrified, Arjun turned around. No one was there.
The train entered a dark tunnel. When it emerged, every passenger was staring directly at him.
Then the train stopped at an unknown station.
The doors opened.
Outside stood dozens of silent people dressed in old-fashioned clothes.
An elderly man inside the coach grabbed Arjun’s arm.
“Whatever you do, don’t step outside.”
Arjun looked at the station sign. The name was impossible to read.
Suddenly, the train started moving again.
The elderly man whispered, “This train hasn’t stopped here for fifty years.”
Arjun turned toward the window.
The people outside were no longer standing.
They were running alongside the train.
