After escaping the basement, Arjun thought the nightmare was finally over. But as he reached the mansion’s courtyard, every door suddenly slammed shut.
A deep whisper echoed through the darkness.
“You cannot leave.”
Arjun looked toward the staircase. A woman in a black dress stood there, holding an old lantern. Her face was hidden beneath long, wet hair.
“Who are you?” Arjun asked.
She slowly pointed toward a locked room.
Suddenly, the door opened by itself.
Inside, Arjun found dozens of old photographs covering the walls. Every photograph showed people standing inside the mansion.
Then he noticed something terrifying.
The newest photograph showed Arjun standing beside the woman.
The date written beneath it was tomorrow.
His hands began trembling.
The woman whispered, “Everyone who enters this haveli becomes part of its story.”
Arjun ran toward the main entrance, but the hallway seemed to stretch endlessly. Behind him, footsteps followed.
He finally reached the courtyard and saw the exit gate.
But someone was standing in front of it.
It was Arjun.
His exact double smiled and said, “You’re too late. I’ve already taken your place.”
The lantern went out.
When it came back on, Arjun was gone.
Only his photograph remained on the wall—smiling beside the mysterious woman.
