It was almost midnight when Neha started walking home from the bus stop. The street was quiet, and the dim streetlights barely lit the empty road. As she walked, she heard soft footsteps behind her.
At first, she ignored it, thinking someone else was walking the same way. But every time she slowed down, the footsteps slowed too. When she walked faster, they did the same.
Her heart began to race.
Suddenly, a cold whisper drifted through the air.
“Don’t look behind you.”
Neha froze. She turned around quickly, but the road was empty. There was no one there.
Trying to calm herself, she continued walking. But now the footsteps were louder… closer than before.
Again the whisper came, colder this time.
“I told you… don’t look behind you.”
A shadow stretched across the ground beside her, even though nothing stood behind her. Terrified, Neha started running.
When she finally reached home, she slammed the door shut and leaned against it, breathing heavily.
Relieved, she slowly walked toward the mirror near the hallway.
But when she looked into it… she saw someone standing behind her.
And it wasn’t human. 👻.
