At the end of a lonely village stood an abandoned house that everyone called the Cursed House. For decades, nobody dared to enter it because strange screams were heard from inside after midnight.
One rainy evening, a curious young man named Kabir decided to investigate.
The front door opened by itself when he touched it.
Inside, the house smelled of damp wood. Old photographs covered the walls, but every person's face had been scratched out.
Suddenly, Kabir heard footsteps coming from upstairs.
He climbed the broken staircase and discovered a locked bedroom. Before he could touch the door, a woman's voice whispered:
“You shouldn't have come back.”
Kabir froze.
He had never visited the house before.
The door slowly opened.
Inside stood an old mirror. When Kabir looked into it, he saw himself standing in the room—but behind his reflection was a pale woman.
He turned around.
Nobody was there.
When he looked back at the mirror, the woman was much closer.
Then the house began shaking violently. Doors slammed, windows shattered, and hundreds of whispers filled the rooms.
Kabir ran outside.
The next morning, villagers found his shoes near the entrance, but Kabir had disappeared.
Inside the house, a new photograph had appeared on the wall.
It showed Kabir standing among the other scratched-out faces.
Beneath it were four words:
“The house chose him.”
